THE ROYAL NORWEGIAN AIR FORCE MATERIEL COMMAND IS DIRECTLY SUBORDINATE TO HQ DEFENCE COMMAND NORWAY.

The Command's principal tasks include:

  • Central and regional materiel administration for the Air Force including the development, procurement, receipt, control, storage, distribution, maintenance and eventual disposal of all aircraft and other technical materiel.
  • The modification and upgrading of aircraft, weapon systems and other equipment.
  • The provision of administrative directives and technical instructions governing this work at all Air Force establishments and units.

Enquiries should be addressed to the Royal Norwegian Air Force Materiel Command / Procurement Branch. The Procurement Branch is responsible for commercial aspects of the procurement and sale of aircraft, weapon systems and other technical equipment for the Air Force. Authority for local purchase is delegated to individual Air Stations.

The Procurement Branch issues invitations to tender, conducts tender opening and contract negotiations with potential suppliers, both Norwegian and foreign, and acts on behalf of the Command in preparing and placing orders and contracts.
