Nordic defence cooperation has entered a new era with the signing of Vision 2030 in April last year. Vision 2030 marks a new level of ambition for NORDEFCO, with efforts to implement its objectives rapidly underway.

The Nordic Defence Ministers welcome progress made to operationalise Vision 2030, strengthening the deterrence and defence of NATO. At the core of Nordic defence cooperation is the ability to conduct joint military operations to manage both present and future challenges together.

As NATO members, the Nordic countries are committed to assisting each other and other allies, with readiness to defend every inch of NATO territory. The Nordic Ministers of Defence reiterate their commitment to strengthening military cooperation, including in the framework of Joint Force Command Norfolk, in support of NATO's regional efforts.

In a time of increased uncertainty, characterised by Russia’s hostile behaviour and war of aggression against Ukraine, the Nordic Defence Ministers emphasise the importance of a strong and united Alliance and express their unwavering support for Ukraine and its people for as long as it takes. Confronted with serious and long-term threats to regional and global security, Nordic Defence Cooperation has never been stronger.
