The digital revolution within film and television has now caught up with Three Wishes for Cinderella. Cinderella, the prince, Jurášek and Rozárka goes digital from 2015. Even her stepmother and stepsister will come in brighter colours and better resolution.
This is made possible to the cultural heritage programme in the Czech Republic financed by Norway through the EEA and Norway Grants.
Together with nine other films and film projects Tři oříšky pro Popelku (German: Drei Haselnüsse für Aschenbrödel, English: Three Wishes for Cinderella) will be digitized, safeguarded for the future and made available on digital platforms in HD quality.
The National Library of Norway is partner in the project together with the Czech Film Archives in Prague.
The film is a Czechoslovak/East German fairy-tale film from 1973. It is immensely popular in Norway at Christmas and in several other countries in Europe as well.
