Norway is extending its contribution to NATO’s air and missile defence in Poland until the summer. Norwegian NASAMS air defence forces will remain stationed in Rzeszów to protect key supply lines in and out of Ukraine.

‘Our air defence in Poland contributes to European security and ensures that vital civilian and military supplies reach Ukraine,’ said Minister of Defence Tore O. Sandvik.
During his visit to Poland on Monday, Sandvik informed his Polish counterpart, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, of the Labour government’s decision.
The Polish Minister of Defence expressed deep appreciation for Norway’s contribution.
‘Poland has made a remarkable effort to support Ukraine. We see closer Norwegian-Polish cooperation as a strength for NATO,’ Sandvik added.
The plan remains for the fighter jets to return once the current mission is completed.
