Minister of Defence Frank Bakke-Jensen (Conservative Party)

Minister Frank Bakke-Jensen was appointed Minister of Defence by Prime Minister Erna Solberg in October 2017. Mr. Bakke-Jensen previously served as Minister of EEA and EU Affairs in Solberg’s Government, after being appointed in December 2016. Mr. Bakke-Jensen was member of the Norwegian Parliament (Storting) representing the Conservative Party, from 2009-2016. Before being elected to Parliament, he served as Mayor of Båtsfjord Municipal.
Before entering politics, he was the Managing director and proprietor of Båtsfjord Travel Agency. Mr. Bakke-Jensen served in the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) from 1990-1991.
