Section for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation

The section works multilaterally through UN bodies, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO), the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), and several other organizations. The section coordinates questions related to cybersecurity and emerging technologies within Norway’s foreign and security policy and issues related to activity in outer space. The section is responsible for policy regarding export controls on strategic goods, services and technology, including defence-related products dual-use goods. The responsibility involves cooperation with the Directorate for Export Control and Sanctions.
