Immigration and immigrants 2013-2014

International migration 2013-2014 – report from Norway to OECD

Annually Norway sends a report to the OECD – Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. The report “International Migration 2013-2014 – IMO report for Norway” is a contribution to the reporting system on migration for the OECD countries.

The most recent report covers 2013 and to some extent 2014. It was prepared during the autumn of 2014 by the Ministry of Children, Equality and Social Inclusion, the Ministry of Justice and Public Security, the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and the Ministry of Education and Research. It is mainly based on figures from Statistics Norway and the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration and contains statistics on migration and on the composition of immigrants and their Norwegian-born children.

It also presents an overview of immigration and integration policy principles and measures. The report covers the major types of immigration, integration in general, training, education, labour market issues, political participation, citizenship, discrimination, public debate and opinion. It also lists some relevant new publications in English or with an abstract in English.

The report for Norway and similar reports from the other member countries are used as important input for the annual publication from the OECD, International Migration Outlook. See OECD's website.
