This report is the result of a preliminary project geared towards gaining an overview of the existing international research on young people’s civic involvement. The situation in Norway is not the centre of attention in this report, but the report will provide a starting point for the centre’s research on youth and participation within the voluntary sector in Norway.

It is important to hold in mind that results and findings reported here will not necessarily be transferable to the Norwegian context, and that further analysis based on Norwegian data is necessary in order to warrant any such transference.
