(19.09.2002) The Lithuanian Minister of Defence, Linas Linkevicius, will visit Norway from September 18 to September 20.
Lithunian Minister of Defence visits Norway
(19.09.2002) The Lithuanian Minister of Defence, Linas Linkevicius, will visit Norway from September 18 to September 20.
During his stay the minister will conduct talks with his Norwegian counterpart, Kristin Krohn Devold, as well as paying visits to several military installations. These include the Norwegian Staff College and the Joint HQ North at Jåttå in Stavanger.
Important issues that will be discussed between the ministers include the Lithuanian application for NATO-membership, the fight against terrorism, regional security issues and continued Norwegian support to Lithuania’s efforts to modernise its military forces.
Mr. Linkevicius is currently serving his second term as Minister of Defence, and he has previously served as Head of the Lithuanian delegation to NATO.
