The Ministry of Defence receives the first national approval for two-level computer system
(09.09.2003 ) The Norwegian National Security Authority has awarded the Ministry of Defence its first approval for a two-level computer system.
The Ministry’s demands with regard to its computer systems are complex, both in terms of security and flexibility. The Ministry exchanges data daily both with the defence sector and the civil sector, on different levels of security.
The demands within data security have traditionally led to closed and complex systems, limiting the users’ ability in terms of efficiency and speed. The Norwegian Ministry of Defence has, however, managed to develop a two-level computer system, where users “seamlessly” can communicate and navigate between restricted and non-restricted levels.
