(12 November 2004) The Norwegian Ministry of Defence has today approved the Coast Guard’s plans for the building of five new vessels for service with the Inshore Coast Guard. These new vessels will replace the oldest of the Inshore Coast Guard vessels now in service. The building time is estimated to be 12 – 14 months and the first vessel is expected to enter service as early as December 2005.
