Norwegian Foreign Minister expresses deep sorrow over Foreign Minister Anna Lindh’s tragic death
"Anna Lindh’s death is a great loss, not only for her family, colleagues and friends but also for Sweden and the international community," Foreign Minister Jan Petersen wrote in a telegram of condolence to Sweden’s acting Foreign Minister, Jan O. Karlsson.
"She was an outstanding politician and foreign minister who demonstrated her commitment to a democratic society based on openness and accessibility in everything she did. The murder is also a serious blow to democracy and makes it more difficult for us to preserve the open societies we set such store by in the Nordic countries," said Mr Petersen.
