Minister of International Development in Addis Ababa for meetings on African development
Minister of International Development Hilde F. Johnson will be participating in two meetings on African development in the period 15-17 October. The meetings will take place in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, and are being organised by the UN Economic Commission for Africa, the ECA.
The Minister will take part in the African Development Forum and the Big Table Meeting. The theme of the African Development Forum will be governance. The Forum will be attended by government representatives, experts and representatives of civil society from most of the African countries. The theme of the Big Table Meeting will be private-sector development in Africa and what is needed to stimulate more investment on the continent.
In connection with her visit to Ethiopia, the Minister will meet with a number of African ministers, other donors and representatives of international organisations, including World Bank President James Wolfensohn.
