Norway’s Minister of International Development to attend meetings in Washington DC and New York
Minister of International Development Hilde F. Johnson is attending World Bank and UN meetings in the period 22 – 28 April. In addition, she will be taking part in a number of bilateral meetings.
In Washington DC, the minister will be attending the Spring Meetings of the World Bank Development Committee on 24 and 25 April. A meeting with Secretary of Health and Human Services Tommy Thompson is scheduled for 23 April, and Ms Johnson will also be meeting several members of the US Congress.
On Monday 26 April, the minister will travel to New York, where she will head the Norwegian delegation to the 12 th> session of the Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD-12) and will be present for the high-level segment on 28 April. On 26 April, Ms Johnsen will take part in a meeting attended by leaders of the UN, World Bank, IMF and WTO on the UN Millennium Development Goals.
On 27 April, the minister is to give a lecture on transitional aid and peace-building at the International Peace Academy.
