Travel advice
AFGHANISTAN
Due to the current situation in Afghanistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises Norwegian nationals to consider carefully before deciding to travel to Afghanistan. Norwegian nationals staying in the country should exercise vigilance and keep in contact with the embassy in Kabul.
CÔTE D’IVOIRE
The situation in Côte d’Ivoire is unpredictable. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises Norwegian nationals to exercise great vigilance when visiting the country and to avoid areas of conflict, especially along the Liberian border.
HAITI
Due to the current situation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises Norwegian nationals to consider carefully before deciding to travel to Haiti.
INDIA
Due to the current situation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises Norwegian nationals to consider carefully before deciding to travel to Jammu and Kashmir, apart from Ladakh. More detailed information may be obtained from the embassy in New Delhi.
IRAQ
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises against all travel to Iraq, and calls on those who are already there to leave the country.
ISRAEL AND THE PALESTINIAN AREA
The situation in Israel and the Palestinian Area is tense and unpredictable. Due to the insecurity of the situation and the risk of terrorist attacks, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises Norwegian nationals to consider carefully before deciding to spend time in the region. Norwegian nationals already in the region are advised to be extra vigilant and take the necessary security precautions. Travellers passing checkpoints when entering or leaving the Palestinian Area, especially Gaza, may encounter problems. Visitors who are unable to postpone their visit should keep in contact with the Norwegian foreign service personnel in the region.
YEMEN
Due to the current situation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises Norwegian nationals to consider carefully before deciding to travel to Yemen.
PAKISTAN
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises Norwegian nationals travelling to Pakistan to exercise vigilance and to register with the embassy in Islamabad.
SAUDI ARABIA
Due to the current situation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises Norwegian nationals to consider carefully before deciding to travel to Saudi Arabia.
SOUTH EAST ASIA
In certain areas in South East Asia, such as Indonesia and the Philippines, there have been terrorist attacks. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs therefore advises Norwegian nationals to be cautious and exercise great vigilance when travelling in the region.
EAST AFRICA
In several countries in East Africa there have been terrorist attacks in recent years, including bomb attacks on tourist sites. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs therefore advises Norwegian nationals to exercise caution and vigilance when travelling in the region, especially in coastal areas in Kenya and Tanzania.
