Minister of International Development congratulates Kemal Dervis on UNDP job
The UN announced today that the post of Administrator and head of the UN Development Programme (UNDP) is being offered to Kemal Dervis of Turkey. Mr Dervis is a Member of the Turkish Parliament and was formerly Minister for Economic Affairs and the Treasury and Vice President of the World Bank.
“Kemal Dervis is very well qualified to head UNDP. I want to congratulate Mr Dervis on getting the job and, as Minister of International Development, look forward to continuing our important co-operation with UNDP in the fight against poverty,” said Minister of International Development Hilde F. Johnson.
