Minister of International Development to open UNICEF exhibition
In connection with the Donors’ Conference for Sudan in Oslo on 11 and 12 April, UNICEF has organised a photo exhibition called “Children of Sudan”.
Minister of International Development Hilde F. Johnson will, together with UNICEF Executive Director Carol Bellamy, open the exhibition for the conference participants. Members of the press are invited to the opening, which will take place on Sunday 10 April at 20.00 at Radisson SAS Plaza Hotel.
The exhibition depicts the situation of women and children in today’s Sudan. It demonstrates the magnitude of the tasks ahead. More than 200 000 children under the age of five die every year in Sudan as a consequence of the lack of clean water and primary health care, and more than 3.5 million children have no access to education.
