Workshop on Environmental Technology identifying increased commercial cooperation

Monday 21 January 2002

During Prime Minister visit to China

Background information:

Norway and China already have long traditions related to environmental technology cooperation. This workshop is intended to elaborate on how this cooperation could be developed in the years to come, with special emphasis on identifying commercial opportunities for closer industrial cooperation.

This workshop is open for Norwegian industry representatives within the field of environmental technology, including environmental surveillance, water treatment, Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), risk analysis, safety, "Green Olympics", etc.

Based on the workshop and feedback from Norwegian companies NTC will follow up the workshop through arrangements of fact finding missions, for instance related to the Chinese need for ITS systems in the largest cities and the possibilities of utilizing Norwegian experiences and products related to OL 2008 (in Beijing).

The main body of the workshop will be dedicated to ITS.
