Two vacant 3G licenses in Norway to be auctioned

The Ministry of Transport and Communications and The Norwegian Post- and Telecommunications Authority invite to an auction of the two vacant 3G licenses in Norway.

The Government wants to facilitate efficient and sustainable competition in the mobile telephony market. The minimum conditions for coverage and roll out requirements encompasses 3G coverage is therefore set to 30 per cent of the population within six years from granting the licenses.

Deadline to submit tenders is Friday 29 August 2003 at 1400 hours. Tenders recived in time will be opened at an open meeting at The Norwegian Post- and Telecommunications Authority, Tuesday 2 September at 1400 hours.
