Norway’s Prime Minister, Mr. Kjell Magne Bondevik, on Tuesday sent the following message to the US President, Mr. George W. Bush:

“Dear President Bush,
I was deeply shocked and grieved to hear of the tragic crash of the American Airlines plane in New York.

On behalf of the Norwegian Government I extend my sincere condolences to you personally and ask you to convey my deepest sympathy to the United States Government, to the American people and to the bereaved families.

Our hearts go out to the people of New York who have suffered such terrible losses and tribulations.
