Norway’s Prime Minister, Mr. Kjell Magne Bondevik, on Tuesday sent the following message to the President of the Dominican Republic, Mr. Rafael Hipólito Dominguez Mejia:

“Dear President Mejia,
I was deeply shocked and grieved to hear of the tragic crash of the American Airlines plane in New York.

I have been informed that many citizens from your country were on board the plane.

On behalf of the Norwegian Government I extend my sincere condolences to you personally and ask you to convey my deepest sympathy to the bereaved families.
