In a session of the Council of State today at 11 a.m., at the Royal Palace in Oslo, Prime Minister Gro Harlem Brundtland's third government handed in their resignation. Permission to resign was granted as of 12.30 p.m. today. At the same time, King Harald V appointed Thorbjørn Jagland's government, acting as of 12.30 p.m.
The new Government's distribution of ministries will be decided in an extraordinary seesion of the Council of State at 12.30 p.m. today.
