This year’s Nobel Peace Prize will be awarded in the Oslo City Hall on 10 December at 1300 hours.

The prize winner H.E. President Kim Dae-jung will be present to receive the prize.

The prize winner will give a press conference at the Nobel Institute, Drammensveien 19 on Saturday 9 December at 1300 hours.

A press centre will be established at Grand Hotel, 6th floor (Norwegian 7th floor) in connection with the awarding of the Peace Prize. The press centre will open on Saturday 9 December at 0900 hours. The press centre’s telephone and fax numbers will be announced at a later date.

Representatives of the press who are interested in reserving hotel accommodation are asked to contact Bennett Travel Agency, tel. (47) 22 83 66 00, fax (47) 22 83 66 01, attention: Mr. Per Brekke. Please state your credit card number and fax number if you want to make a reservation through Bennett Travel Agency.

After the ceremony, CNN will broadcast a live interview with the award winner in the City Hall at 1700 hours. Reporters are invited to attend.

According to an agreement between the Norwegian Nobel Institute and the Norwegian Broadcasting Cooperation (NRK), the latter has certain rights to the television recording of the Peace Ceremony 2000. Trans World International (TWI) in London, has distribution rights for the entire programme outside the EBU-area. NRK may, however, on request provide footage not exceeding five minutes for use in regular news broadcasts by television companies that are members of EBU.

Requests from foreign television companies for technical assistance may also be directed to NRK.
