Norwegian Environmental Assistance on the web
The new web site on www.norad.no/environment offers information about Norwegian Environmental Assistance. The site provides information about Norwegian governmental expertise on environmental issues and also about projects Norway is involved in.
In addition, you can get an overview of Norway's legislation and policy on environmental development co-operation, as well as information about the countries we co-operate with. Seven agencies with an environmental assistance agreement with the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) provide the information.
Environmental and natural resource management is one of the key target areas of Norwegian development policy. Environmental assistance will enhance international co-operation in addressing environmental challenges. It may also strengthen the capacity of developing countries to cope with their national environmental challenges.
Seven Norwegian environmental agencies provide expertise on environmental issues to NORAD. They will contribute to institutional co-operation with developing countries in the environmental field. The centres are the Ministry of Environment, the Directorate for Cultural Heritage, the Directorate for Nature Management, the Norwegian Mapping Authority, the Norwegian Pollution Control Authority, the Agricultural University of Norway and the Institute for Marine Research.
