Global Seed Vault increases its capasity

The Global Seed Vault at Svalbard increases its capasity by 50 percent - within the same budget frame.

Examinations of the geological conditions at Svalbard during the construction of the Global Seed Vault have revealed that it is possible to built three halls instead of two – within the same budget frame. Hence, the storage capacity of the Global Seed Vault increases by 50 percent without increased costs.
