The minister for Agriculture and Food Lars Peder Brekk has stated his support for the proposed Universal Declaration on Animal Welfare (UDAW) in a letter to the international animal welfare organisation WSPA.
The minister for Agriculture and Food Lars Peder Brekk has stated his support for the proposed Universal Declaration on Animal Welfare (UDAW) in a letter to the international animal welfare organisation WSPA.
In his letter to the WSPA, the minister of Agriculture and Food Lars Peder Brekk expresses his support, in principle, for the proposed declaration.
-I am confident that the UDAW will contribute to the recognition of the need for good animal welfare worldwide, says the minister of Agriculture and Food Lars Peder Brekk.
-It is in my opinion very important that this issue is discussed globally, and I am pleased to state my support, in principle, for the proposed declaration. The proposed declaration is in line with the principles on which the proposal for a new Norwegian animal welfare act is based, says Brekk.
