This emergency telephone line is a free telephone hotline service for children and youths exposed to neglect, violence or abuse. Adults worried about children or young people may also use the emergency telephone line. The service is open when the local child welfare service is closed.

This emergency telephone line is a free telephone hotline service for children and youths exposed to neglect, violence or abuse. Adults worried about children or young people may also use the emergency telephone line. The service is open when the local child welfare service is closed.

At certain times, 15 emergency child welfare offices will be on duty to answer the hotline. These offices cover 90 municipalities in all, ensuring that local knowledge will be available.

 

  

 

Emergency telephone line services are categorized in the following ways:


Acute
If it is determined that a child needs immediate help.

Semi-acute
If it is urgent that the local child welfare service be informed.

Worrisome situation
If advice and counselling are needed.

The telephone hotline service is headquartered at the courthouse in Kristiansand, and is directed by the emergency child welfare office there. The service in Kristiansand will respond to telephones, e-mails and SMS/MMS.
