The Netherlands and Norway signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in The Hague on Wednesday 24 April 2013. It was signed by Director of the Defence Materiel Organization, Lex Hendrichs (the Netherlands) and National Armaments Director Morten Tiller (Norway).
The Netherlands and Norway signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in The Hague on Wednesday 24 April 2013. It was signed by Director of the Defence Materiel Organization, Lex Hendrichs (the Netherlands) and National Armaments Director Morten Tiller (Norway).
The MoU has a broad scope of co-operation on research and development, exchange of personnel and information, cooperation on quality assurance and invites to co-operation in industrial defence areas of production, services, technology and trade.
The goal is that the Netherlands and Norway can strengthen defence effectiveness and output through common efforts. The objective is to facilitate joint efforts by review of equipment and logistics support requirements, technical evaluation, the exchange of personnel and know-how, and technological co-operation. The MoU is currently valid for five years and will be automatically renewed unless modification or termination is desired by a party. The formal title of the agreement is: Memorandum of Understanding between the Minister of Defence of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Ministry of Defence of the Kingdom of Norway concerning Defence Materiel Co-operation.
