September 16 the cooperation agreement for The European Wergeland Centre was signed in Strasbourg by Norwegian ambassador Petter Wille and Council of Europe (COE) Secretary General Terry Davis. The signing and following reception took place at the ambassador residence. Davis thanked Norway for its initiative and work towards the realisation of The Wergeland Centre, and underlined that the Centre is to be a ressource centre open and available to all member states of the Council of Europe.
Just a few days ago the vacant position as Executive Director of the Wergeland Centre was announced both in Norwegian newspapers and internationally in Le Monde, Financial Times and Die Zeit. Application deadline is October 9, and the Executive Director will hopefully be in place by the end of 2008.
