The melting ice report was commissioned by Former Vice President Al Gore and Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Støre as they co-chaired the conference Melting Ice: Regional Dramas, Global Wake-Up Call 28 April in the town of Tromsø in Northern Norway.
In Copenhagen, the report was handed over to Dr. Gro Harlem Brundtland, Special Envoy on Climate Change for the United Nations Secretary-General.
Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs Per Stig Møller and Greenland Premier Kuupik Kleist also participated in the event in Copenhagen to present a report on the melting of the Greenland ice sheet.
