Norway is proud to be ranked first out of 130 countries in the World Economic Forum's Gender Gap Index 2008, and notes with appreciation the progress achieved globally at closing the gender gap. The Global Gender Gap Report 2008 shows that progress has been achieved in relatively short time, and real impact has been observed in societies.
