Sri Lanka consultations, Geneva, 28-29 October 2006

The parties, the Government of Sri Lanka and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), will meet in Geneva on 28-29 October for direct consultations in order to explore the opportunities for further peace talks.

There will be media opportunities in relation to the consultations. Information about time and place will be provided subsequently.

Journalists wishing access to the media opportunities, must register at the Geneva Press Club office, where accreditation cards will be issued on presentation of a valid national press card and a valid ID card. Only accreditation cards delivered by the Geneva Press Club will be considered valid.

The Club suisse de la presse/Geneva Press Club will be the press centre during the Sri Lanka consultations.

  • The Geneva Press Club will be open for registration and accreditation on Thursday 26 October from 09.00 to 17.00 and Friday 27 October from 09.00 to 17.00.
  • The press centre at the Geneva Press Club will be open on Saturday 28 October from 08.30 to17.00 and Sunday 29 October from 14.00 to 18.00.
