November was the quietest month in Iraq since the 2003 invasion, but today Baghdad was once again the site of a series of powerful blasts killing more than 100 people and wounding even more. Official buildings such as the Interior Ministry and the Finance Ministry were among the targets of the attacks. Parliamentary elections will be held in Iraq early 2010.
“Norway will continue to support the efforts to build a democratic and stable Iraq,” said the Foreign Minister.
