The Iraqi capital, Baghdad, was hit today by one of the worst terrorist attacks in several years. A large number of people were killed and injured.
“I strongly condemn this terrorist attack, which has affected so many innocent civilians,” said Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.
There has been more extensive contact between Norway and Iraq in the past few years, and the Foreign Minister visited Baghdad in June.
“Norway will continue to support the reconstruction of a democratic and stable Iraq,” said Mr Støre.
