Together with the political parties represented in the Storting, the Government has decided to hold a national memorial for those who were killed or injured in the attacks on the government offices and Utøya on 22 July.

Together with the political parties represented in the Storting, the Government has decided to hold a national memorial for those who were killed or injured in the attacks on the government offices and Utøya on 22 July.

In addition to the national memorial ceremony in Oslo Spektrum on Sunday, various other events will be held that are only for relatives and survivors.  
These additional events are not open to the press. Members of the press are requested to exercise caution in their reporting and show consideration when they are in the vicinity of the various events.

Friday 19 August: Relatives visit Utøya

Not open to members of the press.

Members of the press who intend to work in this area are to go to Lien estate. Signs showing the way will be posted. Note that some roads will be blocked and that there will be police officers in the area. Access to Utøya is still restricted to the police. The Police Directorate will provide more information on when members of the press will be given an opportunity to visit Utøya at a later date.

Representatives and spokespersons from the sectors involved will be available to the press at Lien estate.

Relatives and survivors who wish to take part will be given an opportunity to visit the area affected at the government offices and to meet each other. Health personnel will be present to assist the participants during the visit.

The Ministry of Health and Care Services will provide an opportunity for relatives and survivors of the attack on Utøya to meet each other on Sunday evening. The meeting will take place at Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel. Health personnel will be present to assist the participants during the visit.

Sunday 21 August: Luncheon hosted by Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg for the relatives

The luncheon will be held at Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel.

Sunday 21 August, 15:00 hours: National memorial ceremony for those who were killed or injured in the attacks on the government offices and Utøya on 22 July

The ceremony will be held in Oslo Spektrum and will be broadcast live on NRK1, NRK2, TV 2 and TV Norge.

Accreditation may be obtained through the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK). There are a limited number of seat for members of the press. No filming will be allowed during the ceremony. All footage of the ceremony (including still photos) will be made available to the press through NRK.

A press centre equipped with the necessary facilities and services will be set up in Oslo Spektrum. Members of the press who do not have a seat in Oslo Spektrum can watch the ceremony there. The ceremony is being arranged by the Ministry of Culture and produced by NRK.
