The Annual NATO Conference on WMD Arms Control, Disarmament and Non-proliferation

 

 

Dear participants and guests,

I look forward to welcoming you to the Annual NATO Conference on WMD Arms Control, Disarmament and Non-proliferation in Bergen on 16–17 June 2011.

The annual conference is an opportunity to share thoughts and views on the threat posed by weapons of mass destruction in the current international security environment, and on the role of NATO in seeking to reduce these threats.

During the conference we will address a range of issues and challenges related to WMDs, including the future of multilateral non-proliferation and disarmament regimes, regional WMD-related challenges, and – most importantly – NATO’s contribution to international efforts in the field of WMD arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation.

I look forward to seeing you in Bergen and to a fruitful and inspiring conference.
