The Minister based his speech on some key messages, among others:
- Norway’s experience: Energy been crucial for the country's development (re: Norway’s history – from a poor to a rich country). Today, Norway is one of the world’s largest exporters of oil and gas.
- For a long time: Hydropower. Very important for Norway's development until the oil & gas age. And still is.
- Sustainable energy is a key to solving some of our biggest global challenges. Poverty eradication – and combating climate change.
