Participation in EU programmes is an important part of Norway’s cooperation with the EU.
Through this participation, Norway makes a contribution to common European processes and activities. Norway also benefits from participating in EU programmes, since the programmes bring the cooperation to the level of individuals, institutions and organisations. Norway participated in 20 EU programmes in the periode 2007 - 2013.
The most well-known of these are the Framework Programme for Research (FP7) and the education programmes (Erasmus, etc.), but Norway also took part in programmes in the fields of business and industry, information services and information security systems, culture, consumer policy, crisis preparedness and response, public health and statistics.
Work is now under way to assess and draw up a strategy for Norway’s participation during the EU’s next programme period, 2014–2020.
You can find an overview of the programmes Norway participates in or has a cooperation agreement with further down on this page.
