Child abductiion site now in English

The Norwegian Ministry of Justice and the Police and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' child abduction web site is now available in English. The address is http://www.government.no/child-abduction.

The web site gives information on what you should do if a child of whom you have custody is about to be taken out of the country without your consent. There is information on what you should do if your child already has been abducted or retained abroad. You will also find information on what you can do to try to prevent your child from being abducted and a brief introduction to the Norwegian rules on custody and traveling abroad with children.
