Cabinet minister Navarsete to visit India

Minister of Local Government and Regional Development Liv Signe Navarsete is to visit India between 10 and 13 January.

The visit is to follow-up on the collaboration agreement between Norway and India on local democracy, including the involvement of women in local politics.

Navarsete will meet the Indian Minister for Local Democracy and Village Councils, Chandra Deo, and the Minister for District Development Jairam Ramesh.

In addition, she will meet the National Election Commission, educational and research institutions in Andhra Pradesh and visit the village council of Iddanavalasa in Andrha Pradesh.
