Seminar on hydropower development in Turkey

The seminar was organised by the Turkish Ministry of Energy and the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy, in cooperation with Innovation Norway and the Norwegian Embassy.
HRH Crown Prince Haakon was accompanied by a sizeable business delegation when he visited Turkey between 25th and 27th of November, giving a significant boost to Norwegian – Turkish bilateral political and economic relations.
The largest business event during the visit, a seminar on hydropower development, was held in Ankara on the 26th of November.
The seminar was organised by the Turkish Ministry of Energy and the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy, in cooperation with Innovation Norway and the Norwegian Embassy. The aim of the seminar was to bring representatives from the energy sector of both countries together to discuss possible cooperation.
The seminar was very well attended, with approximately 200 Turkish participants and 40 from the Norwegian side, representing a wide spectre of Norwegian competence.
Turkey and Norway are the two countries with the largest hydropower potential in Europe, and the event was a success in order to further improve the bilateral cooperation in this field.
HRH Crown Prince Haakon opened the hydropower seminar. Deputy Minister of Petroleum and Energy, Ms. Liv Monica Stubholt, then gave the following key-note address.
