The Ministry of Petroleum and Energy has prequalified Lukoil Oil Company as an operator on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
Lukoil Oil Company is a major independent oil and gas company headquartered in Moscow, Russia. The company has more than 150 000 employees and extensive reserves, production and operations in various parts of the world.
In order to attract new and competent companies to the Norwegian Continental Shelf, Norwegian authorities have established a system for prequalification of both operators and licensees. The reason for establishing this system is to offer companies an evaluation of their suitability for participation on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, before they spend resources on evaluating specific business opportunities.
More information regarding the system of prequalification and an overview of operators and other licensees on the Norwegian Continental Shelf can be found on the NPD’s website.
