Minister of Trade and Industry Trond Giske was present at Tjuvholmen Sjømagasin in Oslo when the Furset group presented its menu to be served at the world exhibition EXPO 2010 in Shanghai.
Minister of Trade and Industry Trond Giske was present at Tjuvholmen Sjømagasin in Oslo when the Furset group presented its menu to be served at the world exhibition EXPO 2010 in Shanghai.
Mr. Giske used the occasion to talk about the value of Norwegian seafood exports and its importance for building a good reputation for Norway abroad. The total export value of seafood to China last year exceeded 2 billion Norwegian kroner.
- The food in the Norwegian pavilion comes from Norwegian ingredients, prepared an international way, Giske said.
Bjørn Tore Furset belives that there is a vast marked for a variety of Norwegian fish and seafood. – We have some amazing raw materials that we believe will be popular in China, Furset said as he presented the extensive menu to be served at his restaurant in the pavilion.
In September 2009, the Furset Group won the competition and was chosen to operate the restaurant in the Norwegian pavilion at EXPO 2010 in Shanghai. The Furset Group collaborate with the Norwegian Seafood Export Council and has selected Lerøy as the main partner in the delivery of fresh Norwegian seafood in Shanghai twice a week.
The Norwegian restaurant has a Chinese name that translated into English means: ”Love from the Norwegian Sea.”
