With 160 floors and 828 meters above the ground, Burj Khalifa is a well-known landmark in Dubai. Right before its sopening in January 2010, the spire was painted with paint supplied by Jotun.

On April 14, the Norwegian Minister of Trade and Industry Trond Giske took one of the 56 elevators to the top to enjoy the view. - Plaza Hotel stretches 117 meters above ground level in Oslo. Burj Khalifa in Dubai is more than  seven times higher. I am impressed, and it is extra fun that Jotun has supplied paint to both the top, the spire and the inside of the building, Giske said.

- Norwegian companies like Jotun have  put their mark on Dubai, and they have taken part in the enormous development in the area in recent years. New opportunities will open for Norwegian industry in this region, especially in the maritime industries and ICT,  Giske said.

The Minister also visited the shipyard Dubai Drydocks to oversee the building of the seismic vessel Polarcus Asima. Its ”X-Bow” is designed by the Norwegian company Ulstein. – The award-winning Ulstein X-Bow design ensures high operational efficiency, reducing the ship's carbon footprint and is a good example of innovation in the Norwegian maritime industries, Giske said.

Wilhelmsen Ship Service has 30 years experience in Dubai. Together with Eitzen Maritime Service, IM Skaugen and Master Marine it spearheads the Norwegian maritime environment in Dubai.

- Norwegian suppliers account for a high standard and quality of their goods and services. The demand is great, and therefore representatives of the Norwegian government are here to help open new doors, Giske said.
