Minister of Trade and Industry Trond Giske and Minister of the Environment and International Development Erik Solheim will visit Africa in November. They will be accompanied by representatives from a variety of Norwegian companies.
One of the goals of the trip is to open the doors for Norwegian investments.
The trip to Africa - from November 21 to November 25 - will include visits to Ghana, Angola and Mozambique.
- Parts of Africa are experiencing high economic growth which means good opportunities for Norwegian companies. We will assist those already working in these countries and open doors for those who wish to enter. The possibility of increasing trade with African countries will also be considered, Giske said.
Norway will make it easier for Norwegian companies to invest in Africa.
- Africa needs business. The main goal is to encourage Norwegian companies to invest more. It is a very important incentive for poor countries. In addition, Africa is experiencing a major economic development which Norwegian companies can benefit from. Seven of the ten fastest growing economies in the world are in Africa, says Solheim.
The business delegation is organized by Innovation Norway. The program will focus on offshore, renewable energy, trade and investment.
