As a step in the formal process of establishing a North European Functional Airspace Block (NEFAB), a consultation meeting was held in Brussels on 6th February 2012. Interested bodies in EU member states were notified of the NEFAB initiative. The meeting was arranged by the EU Commission.

The EU Commission and interested parties will send any comments they may have to the NEFAB states by mid-March 2012.
The participating countries in NEFAB plan a formal signing ceremony of the multi-national agreement in the spring of 2012.
