Austria's president, Heinz Fischer, is on a three days state visit to Norway. Climate change and climate friendly technologies were on the agenda when Prime Minister Stoltenberg met with President Fischer today.
Austria's president, Heinz Fischer, is on a three days state visit to Norway. Climate change and climate friendly technologies were on the agenda when Prime Minister Stoltenberg met with President Fischer today.
Norway has stared the world's largest full-scale CO2 capture and storage project. Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg addressed the importance of this work and of dissemination of climate friendly technologies. The EU's climate policy on this issue is of importance. The Prime Minister stressed the shared responsibility to reduce greenhouse gases.
Austria is hosting several UN agencies. As co-chair for the UN-reform-report presented to the last UN General Assembly, calling for a stronger coherence and coordination at country level as well as headquarter lever, Prime Minister Stoltenberg underlined the importance of creating necessary support for implementation of the reform.
