"The Norwegian Government strongly condemns the brutal terrorist attacks against several targets in Mumbai in India yesterday, attacks that have claimed the life of more than a hundre persons", Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg says.

In a letter to Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today, Stoltenberg said:
"Dear Prime Minister Singh,
It was with shock and great sadness that I learned of the terrorist attacks in Mumbai yesterday. We strongly condemn these brutal attakcs on innocent civilians. On behalf of the Government and the people of Norway, I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to the victims and their families.
This tragedy has made a deep impression on me personally and on the many Norwegians who have family and friends in your country. I would also like to express our sympathy with the people and the Government of India in this difficult situation.
