Stoltenberg celebrates National Day in Chile

Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg was present at Chile’s National Day celebrations on 18 September. In Santiago he also had political talks with President Michelle Bachelet. The visit demonstrates the increasingly close cooperation between Norway and Chile.
Santiago de Chile: Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg was present at Chile’s National Day celebrations on 18 September. In Santiago he also had political talks with President Michelle Bachelet. The visit demonstrates the increasingly close cooperation between Norway and Chile. “I am happy to participate in celebrating Chile’s National Day”, Stoltenberg says.
“Chile is important to Norway, and my visit demonstrates our increasingly close relations. My government is working to prepare for good cooperation within business and energy, and also in the field of international politics. The climate issue and the struggle against poverty are central issues in Norway’s cooperation with Chile and other countries”, the Prime Minister says.

Prime Minister Stoltenberg’s visit to Chile is part of a larger journey in Latin America. In recent days he has been in Brazil, visiting Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia and the Amazon rainforest.
The visit to Chile will end on 19 September, when the Prime Minister will visit the Allende Museum and take part in a conference on the UN Millennium Development Goals.
