The Nordic prime ministers have decided to help Iceland out of the current financial crisis but have called, in the first instance, for the situation to be studied in greater depth. A Nordic committee of senior officials will scrutinise the International Monetary Fund's stabilisation programme for the country, the prime ministers said after a joint meeting in Helsinki, Finland on 27 October.
